COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE JUNE 3 FIRE INAUGURATED

The Interior Minister, Mr Mark Woyongo, has inaugurated a five member committee to investigate the June 3rd fire disaster at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Goil filling station in Accra.

 

The committee, chaired by Mr Justice Isaac Douse, a retired Appeal Court Judge, has other members drawn from the Flagstaff House, the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service and a Hydrologist Consultant, Mr Wise Ametepe, as an advisor.

 

According to Mr Woyongo, the commitee is expected to investigate the possible causes of the disaster, assess the cost of damage as a result of the fire and make recommendations as to how the country could prevent the occurrence of such disaster.

 

The committee is expected to submit its report on 30th June 2015.
