Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) Ghana has presented a number of assorted items to the office of the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Usmanu Nuhu Sharabutu, towards the celebration of Eidul Fitr Festival (the festival of the breaking of the fast).

The items are made up of a cash donation of two thousand Ghana cedis (GHC2, 000), one ram, ten bags of rice and four gallons of vegetable cooking oil.

The others are 30 crates of minerals, 14 crates of mineral water, four packs of fruit juice and airtime worth five hundred Ghana cedis (GHC500.00).

Presenting the items at the office of the National Chief Imam in Accra, yesterday, Mr Abubakr Mohammed, General Manager for Distributive Trade, MTN, said support for this year’s Eidul Fitr Festival was in furtherance of the long-standing relationship between MTN and the Chief Imam, in particular, and the entire Muslim community.

Mr Mohammed disclosed that MTN would be organizing a forum for the Fadama community this month and appealed to all members of the community to attend.

He said the forum aimed to update members on key developments within the telecommunications business, explain the company’s unique products and services to them, resolve customer complaints and take feedback in order to improve on the operations of MTN.

Furthermore, he said, MTN’s annual promotional packages for Hajj pilgrims would also be rolled out during this year’s Hajj.

Dr Shiehk Sharabutu, who received the items on behalf of the Muslim community, expressed appreciation for the gesture which, he said, had been demonstrated for the past eight years.
