19 media men return home from China seminar

Nineteen media men drawn from the Ministry of Information, Information Services Department, Ghana News Agency and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation have returned home after a 30-day seminar in China.

They were taken through the media landscapes in Ghana and China, targeting particularly the print, electronic, online and public relations protocols.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the Peoples Republic of China, it enhanced their human resource capacity to promote the friendship and cordial relations between Ghana and China.

The Human Resource Director of the Ministry and leader of the delegation, Mr. Kofi Ohene Benning, appealed for more collaboration between the two countries for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

He also entreated the participants to apply the skills and knowledge they had acquired in their daily activities, adding that “be circumspect especially in your reportage.”

On behalf of the China International Publishing Group, the organisers of the seminar, Mr. Li Hengtia, the Deputy Director of the group, tasked the media to use their reportage to facilitate the socio-economic development of their country.

“The world is dependent on two issues; development and peace, therefore media reportage should be centred on both”, he stated.

Certificates of participation were awarded to all the participants.
