She appealed to Ghanaians to protect water bodies and water efficiently.

The project, when completed, will go a long way to improve the socio-economic life of the rural people, especially women who labour every day in search of water.

Mr.Philip Foster, for his part, commended Ghana for the strides being made in the water sector.

He said the UK was happy to be associated with the project. This, he hoped, would further strengthen the already cordial relation between the UK and Ghana.

The project is expected to provide 460 points of delivery and over 200,000 people are expected to benefit from it when completed. It will take 18 months to complete with the face value of 36 million Euros. It will increase the current water supply from 62 percent.
