Ellembelle Assembly And MP Donates Items To Muslim Community W/R

Ahead of the climax of the Ramadan season, the Member of Parliament (MP) together with the Ellembelle District Assembly have donated items worth about Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 10,000)to the Chief Imam of the Muslims in the District for onward distribution to the Dumah Mosques in the District.

 

Items donated included 41 Bags of Rice, 10 Bags of Sugar, 5 Bags of Maize and 7 Boxes of cooking oil.

Presenting the items, the Presiding Member of the Assembly who led the delegation indicted that the presentation of items to the Muslim Community was a custom of the Hon. MP,the Assembly and the President in supporting the Muslims after their fasting period.

According to him, what makes this fasting different from the other years is that this time, the presentation of items has been made to the Chief Imam who will in turn distribute to the other Muslim Communities in the District.

He therefore prevailed upon the Muslims to remember the President, MP and Government in prayers so that they can deliver and work for the development all and sundry desires adding that the Assembly and MP will join in the climax of the prayers.

For his part, the Chief Imam, Alhaji Zacharia Abdulai, thanked the President, Hon. MP and the Assembly for the gesture adding that it would boost their strength after the fasting period. 

He encouraged government not to relent on striving to work for the development of the nation regardless of the abusive languages and attacks meted out to public officials on the airwaves adding that since the government respects the Islamic Community they would also support them in prayers to deliver on their promise to the Ghanaian people. 

Ahaji Abdulai indicated that Ramadan is a fasting period of the 9th month on the Islamic Calendar which according to him every good deed done in the time of Ramada is rewarded adding that the all gracious Allah would reward the President, Hon. MP and the Assembly immensely for the donation.
