TAIN ATTRACTS SWEDISH INVESTORS FOR STARCH FACTORY

The Tain District has attracted investors from Sweden to help in the establishment of a starch factory under a Public Private Partnership.

Announcing this during a courtesy call on chiefs and elders of Badu Traditional Council in the Brong Ahafo Region, the Tain District Chief Executive, Ms. Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh, said 4000 hectares would be needed for the project.

The DCE therefore appealed to the chiefs to release land for the project, else the district would lose the opportunity.

The DCE said the visit was also to thank the tradition council for its support and guidance since she assumed office and to also join it in the celebration of this year’s Yam Festival.

Nana Boakye Yiadom II, the Omanhene of Badu Traditional Council, supported the project and assured that land would be provided for the factory since it would help to create employment to his people.
