Birim Central assembly presents mono-desks to Schools

The Birim Central Municipal Assembly has presented 393 mono-desks at a cost of GH₡98, 250 to the Attafuah and St. Francis Senior High Schools in Oda.


This brings the total of such donations to schools across the Birim Central Municipality to 1,093. The GH₡238,250 value of the furniture came from the Assembly’s Development Fund (DDF).


Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Kwabena Bempong, said the donation formed part of government’s decision to expand access to facilities in schools to make teaching and learning comfortable particularly, with the Free Senior High School policy introduced by the government.


Mr. Bempong called for regular maintenance of the furniture.


He announced that more projects had been earmarked by the Assembly to raise the standard of education in the area.


The headmaster of Attafuah Senior High School, Dr. Isaac Osew Larbi expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the donation, adding that the furniture would go a long way to enhance teaching and learning in schools.
