Lower Manya MCE Cuts Sod for the Construction of CHPS Compound

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Lower Manya Krobo, Mr. Simon Kweku Tetteh, has cut the sod for the construction of a Community-based Health and Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Wawase.

 

At the sod cutting ceremony, Mr. Tetteh expressed concerned about the poor health service delivery in the area, therefore, promised to ensure that proper health service is brought closer to the communities.

 

He said the government was working to improve the water situation in the municipality, adding that the assembly has started drilling mechanized boreholes in some communities to solve the situation.

 

Mr. Tetteh said the government was also in the process of connecting communities that did not have electricity, especially Wawase and its environs to the national grid. He assured of government’s commitment to transforming the rural areas.

 

Mr. Emmanuel Siakwa, the Director of Youth and Women Empowerment (YOWE), a not for profit organisation, appealed to the people to assist in the monitoring of development projects to avoid loss of materials at the construction site.
