Bono Regional Minister Assumes Office

Mrs. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson, the new Minster for Bono Region, has on Monday 29, April 2019 officially commenced work.

This was after she was approved by parliament and sworn into office by President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Mrs. Richardson is the first female Regional Minister in 60 years when the Region was created in 1959.

At a staff durbar to welcome the minister and her deputy, Mr. Siaka Stephen, who is also a Member of Parliament for Jaman North, Mrs. Richardson thanked the President for her appointment and Parliament for approving her appointment.

She said the durbar was to enable her and management to deliberate on how to tackle the challenges facing the staff and move the region forward.

To this end, she said, her doors were opened for views, ideas, suggestions and contributions from the general public especially stakeholders to bring development to the people.

Mrs. Richardson noted that the region was partitioned into three, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo, for the purpose of development and assured that her administration would work hard to galvanize both human and material resources to bring development to the people.

Nana Bofobene Gyeabour, Paramount Chief of Dwenem Traditional Area, who was chairman of the occasion, advised Mrs. Richardson to respect the time and instill discipline at work.

Nana Gyeabour pledged the support of the Chiefs to the development of the region.
