Deputy for Ahafo Minister Donates to Ghana Education Service

The Deputy Regional Minister for Ahafo, Mr. Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, has donated Musical Instruments to Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School and motorbikes to the Tano South Municipal Education Directorate.

The donation follows a request the two institutions — Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School and Tano South Municipal Education Directorate — made to the Deputy Minister, who is also the MP for Tano South Constituency.

At a ceremony to hand over the items to the beneficiaries, Mr. Sekyere said the motorbikes would enhance the work of circuit supervisors whilst the musical instrument would improve the entertainment activities of the school.

He promised to provide a free internet facility to facilitate the teaching of Information Communication Technology.

The Minister said the government had introduced free education in the senior high school to bridge the gap between the poor and rich and urged the beneficiaries of the programme to take their studies seriously to justify the huge investments the government was making in the programme.

He announced that the government would complete all projects started in the municipality by the previous government to ensure citizens’ taxes did not go waste.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Collins Offinam Takyi, assured of the Municipal Assembly’s commitment to executing development projects in the municipality to raise the living standards of the people.

Mrs. Mabel Botokro, the Municipal Education Director, thanked Deputy Minister and MCE for their kind gesture and promised to use the motorbikes for their intended purposes. She said the released of the motorbikes to the directorate would go a long way to address some of the challenges confronting circuit supervisor.
