1,852 Candidates Write BECE in Kintampo North Municipality

One thousand, eight hundred and fifty-two candidates are writing the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Kintampo North Municipality.


Out of the number, 946 boys and 906 girls, are writing the examination, which started on June 10, in seven centres.


The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Majeed Ayariga, visited some examination centers and encouraged the candidates to do their best but refrain from examination malpractices. 


He said the BECE was the first examination the students were taking, as a result, it was alright to feel a little nervous he, however, entreated them not to be intimidated by the exam.


And donated some boxes of pens to the centers visited to be distributed to the candidates for the exams.


The Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Nelson Addai-Poku asked the students to take the examination as one of the numerous mock examinations they had written before. 


Interactions with some of the candidates revealed that they were prepared for the examination even though they were nervous. Some were happy to take the exam as this would pave the way for them enjoy free senior high school education.
