Goals

To promote the peaceful application of biotechnology, nuclear and related techniques for the development of sustainable solutions for increased food and nutrition security (SDG 2), health and wellbeing (SDG 3), and industrialization (SDG 9) for economic development and poverty alleviation (SDG1) in Ghana. The strategic goals of BNARI include:

To enhance research, development and innovation for national development
To improve financial resource mobilization and management to support BNARI
To develop and manage high level human resource capacity required by BNARI to fulfil her mission
To improve and modernize infrastructure and facilities of BNARI for the enhancement of research, development and innovation

Objectives

To apply isotopes, ionizing radiation, biotechnology and related technologies to increase agricultural productivity and economic development in Ghana. The strategic objectives of BNARI include:

To promote and develop world class research and innovative programmes in nuclear (radiation processing), biotechnology and agriculture related fields.
To promote applied and collaborative research with industry and other institutions of higher learning
To institutionalise quality assurance and quality control in research and service delivery
To initiate new programmes and research to address the problems of industry and the general populace in response to national needs
To develop and implement data management policy document to enhance research credibility 2
Develop products and services to attract stakeholders to use our human and material resources e.g. consultancies, laboratory analysis, sale of products etc.
Strengthen the Socio-Economic and Commercialisation Centre (SECC) to effectively market BNARI
